15.5 oz. can chickpeas or garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons tahini
1-2 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2-3 ice cubes
paprika or sumac for garnish, optional
extra virgin olive-oil for garnish, optional
chopped fresh parsley for garnish, optional
Directions
- In a food process or blender, add chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil, garlic, and salt. Blend until a creamy consistency, and scrape down the sides as needed (3-5 minutes).
- Add 2-3 ice cubes and continue to blend until smooth.
- Spoon the hummus onto a bowl or plate, and spread the hummus using the back of the spoon.
